Well- it's that time of year again. The grass starts getting greener (it will eventually) and the birds are singing and March the 17th rolls around and we get geared up for St. Patrick. There's the traditional donning of the green and green beer and at our house- Leprechaun traps. Who knew.

The kids were introduced to this idea early in pre-school. The traps involve a lot of creativity and glue and glitter. You see, leprechauns, apparently LOVE shiny things. So you lure them in and trap them and get to keep their treasure. St. Al's lore states that they are VERY difficult to catch so you must be sneaky.
This year William and Ben decided to make their trap look like a "play gym" with a pipe-cleaner ladder and rainbow slide. Extra pennies were taped around the foil lined box (multiple layers!) to entice the little guy. And Will had the idea that he might need a new suit. We used some felt and staples and contruction paper to craft a little hat to go with the ensemble. We'll let you know if we catch one!
