New Year's at the Cabin

We welcomed 2009 at Preist Lake with plenty of snow and time as a family. Tyler's first visit to the cabin was full of snowshoe adventures, snuggling in front of the woodstove, making cookies and card games.

Mom even got to sneak out for an adventure of her own!

The brothers snuggle to keep warm! Snuggling in Mom and Dad's bed is the best

In the winter we're able to walk on water-- or the frozen lake anyways! Almost all the way across the sandbar.
More memories to treasure at the lake. We are blessed!

Feels like Home...

Did you ever come to a place and instantly recognize it as your ‘Ultima Thule,’ the one spot in all God’s world where you belonged- where your roots could go deep into the soil which would forever nourish you, where inspiration and spiritual blessing welled up from the earth to the top of the tallest Tamarack, spread to the encasing bowl of sky, return on every waterway to feed you everlastingly? Such a spot, so it seemed to me, was Priest Lake. ~ Nell Shipman, 1924
