We played hooky this weekend (in observance of Canadian Thanksgiving and Columbus day!) and did some exploring of our own. On Sunday we took our friends Craig and Sho to Upper Priest Lake and were lucky enough to see an entire herd of moose grazing on the scrub on the shore of the thoroughfare. There were 3 bulls- one with a full rack, and two other teenagers. What a sight. They were still there after we came back through. Quite a sight. This photo is of Millie (our fave) who bounded across the road as we were pulling in on Saturday night- with her son "Yahtzee." They posed long enough to welcome us back up to the lake and warn us that it was chilly!

Feels like Home...
Did you ever come to a place and instantly recognize it as your ‘Ultima Thule,’ the one spot in all God’s world where you belonged- where your roots could go deep into the soil which would forever nourish you, where inspiration and spiritual blessing welled up from the earth to the top of the tallest Tamarack, spread to the encasing bowl of sky, return on every waterway to feed you everlastingly? Such a spot, so it seemed to me, was Priest Lake. ~ Nell Shipman, 1924
