Halloween 2010
Halloween fun translates into the extended sugar high that all parents know primes us for the Holiday rush. The Pre-Christmas warm up.
But who doesn't like a good time? I mean who doesn't love dressing up and getting a little Silly? Hey- I'm with you babe... Good times this year. Sonny and Cher know a good thing when they see it.
All three boys diversified in the costume department this year. Ben is (most obviously) one of the legends in Cross Country running- Steve Prefontaine. Coming off of a strong season it was quite appropriate to don the UO singlet and 'stache for the parade of Tricks and Treats. Speaking of treats- The COOOOkie Monster showed up. Ty's favorite word that he chirps every time we drive by Alberstons. He just can't get enough- so I was more than happy to have Micky's genius idea come to fruition here. The handstiched balaclava was welcomed until the googly eyes showed up, then he screamed and ran out of the room. Luckily we had enough time to break him into the idea. And Will- rocked once again, the Jedi costume. This year you'll note he's a "Jedi in training" as opposed to Luke Skywalker that he was a year ago. Soooo obvious on that one, too.
So the gym of St. Aloysius is transformed into a carnival of booths and fun and the library becomes a Haunted House. Scary. And the scariest thing that we picked up at Hallowfest or the parties that day was the plague. Yes, What I like to call the Hallowfest Plague. Involving a lot of vomit and fevers to boot. Who knew?
So, according to William- this Halloween... it was the BEST of times
And the WORST of times, as he missed Trick-or-treats due to said plague. He did muster a cheerful Fun Dip as seen in this pic. Ty, a big fan of the candy as well as all cookies and sweet things had more candy than anyone most likely- He especially likes the first 3-6 licks of a lollipop-
You can see Tyler cheerfully lining up his loot on the table while Will is mustering a quick rally to show support and then back to watching Charlie Brown for the third time that evening. Sigh. But the show must go on. And on it did. Aunt Sunnie, Sammie and Hannah and friends, and Uncle R.J. and Aunt Jayme, Carter and Bethany came for pizza and the trick-or-treats around the block. The Papa Murphy's pizzas on tht Traeger Grill/smoker are always a crowd pleaser. Cookie's "googey" eyes were glued back on after being picked off in the car on the way to Hallowfest.

Feels like Home...
Did you ever come to a place and instantly recognize it as your ‘Ultima Thule,’ the one spot in all God’s world where you belonged- where your roots could go deep into the soil which would forever nourish you, where inspiration and spiritual blessing welled up from the earth to the top of the tallest Tamarack, spread to the encasing bowl of sky, return on every waterway to feed you everlastingly? Such a spot, so it seemed to me, was Priest Lake. ~ Nell Shipman, 1924
